God-ordained Way Reading Program—
Week of November 25, 2012
We will continue reading The Advance of the Lord’s Recovery Today for the churches in Anaheim, Cypress, and Orange. Detailed information including the full reading schedule is available at churchinanaheim.org/gowreading/.
In The Advance of the Lord’s Recovery Today Chapter 3 we see the second crucial item of the present advance of the Lord’s recovery—the organic building up of the Body of Christ. We should drop the concept that to be organic is to be automatic and spontaneous. The Body of Christ, like a tree, is organic. Anything that is organic is built up by growing. The building up of the church is by the believers’ growing in life. According to our human concept, the church is an organization of a group of people, but our mind needs to be renewed to see that the church as the Body of Christ is the organism of the Triune God. We need to work organically for the organic building up of the Body of Christ. The first step of the organic building up is to beget people, to impart the divine life into sinners to make them the sons of the living God and the organic members of the Body of Christ.
The organic building up of the Body of Christ is the increase of the Triune God in the believers for their growth in Christ. We, the members of the Body, are the builders of the Body. Ephesians 4:16 says that all the Body causes the growth of the Body unto the building up of itself. The organic building up of the Body of Christ is the growth of the Body through the members of the Body growing into Christ, the Head, in all things (Eph 4:15-16). Christ is the Head, the authority, the “Boss”. We should live by taking Him as our Head. Out from Christ, the Head, all the Body causes the growth of the Body unto the building up of the Body itself. Some among us are joints of the rich supply, and some are parts operating in their own measure. When the joints and parts are functioning, the Body is being built up organically.
