I am a native Californian, and was raised in an affluent, Protestant-Evangelical home and church environment. I was taught that anything that was not scripturally sound, that was flashy to extreme, was not of God. My contact with Witness Lee began in 1964. His messages were focused on Christ as our life working from inside of the believers to eventually transform their corrupt selves with Christ becoming their all in all. I didn’t just want Christ on Sunday, solos by gifted performers, or even great preaching, but that Christ would be preeminent. I never met Watchman Nee, yet I have read The Normal Christian Life and numerous tracts regarding Christian behavior and attitude in daily living written by him. I have been positively influenced by the faithful ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee. I have been helped spiritually. Witness Lee was like a spiritual father, and I felt he was used by the Lord Jesus Christ to perfect me (Eph. 4:12). Thank God, I am in the process.
