The Training and the Practice of the Vital Groups was spoken by Brother Witness Lee from August 25 through December 15, 1993 in a training in Anaheim. The introductory word is concerning the vital groups and the overcomers. In order to see the importance of the vital groups, we need a clear view of the entire Bible. God’s move on the earth for the accomplishment of His eternal economy has only four steps: 1) through the Adamic race, 2) through the Abrahamic race, 3) through the church, and 4) through the overcomers. In God’s move through the Adamic race, through the Abrahamic race, and then through the church there was a failure. This is why there is the last book of the Bible–Revelation, where there is the call for the overcomers. God’s move on the earth for the accomplishment of His economy is ultimately through the overcomers and the vital groups should be composed of people who are overcomers. All of the messages in this book will be concerning this last step, the step of God’s move through the overcomers.

“A proper Christian should be vital. To be vital means to be living and active. Since I am a man, I must believe into Christ. If I am a Christian, I must be in the recovery. If I am in the recovery, I must be vital. If we are not vital, we may be in the church, but we are not among the overcomers. An overcomer is a vital person.”
