Week of January 13, 2013

We will continue reading The Advance of the Lord’s Recovery Today for the churches in Anaheim, Cypress, and Orange. Detailed information including the full reading schedule is available at churchinanaheim.org/gowreading/.

This week we will be reading The Advance of the Lord’s Recovery Today, Chapter 8. This book is available for purchase from Living Stream Ministry. You can also read it online at ministrybooks.org.

In The Advance of the Lord’s Recovery Today Chapter 8 we see how to carry out the New Testament priesthood of the gospel according to the Lord’s up-to-date recovery. We have to uproot the old way and plant the new way, which gives the believers equal opportunity to function as the organic members of the organic Body of Christ. In order to carry out God’s New Testament priesthood of the gospel, we have to take care of four steps. Each step is a must. These four steps can be summarized with four words: go, feed, perfect, and climb.

First, we have to get sinners saved through our preaching of the gospel by visiting them in their homes. We need to make the New Testament priesthood of the gospel a part of our daily life. Second, we need to go back to the new believers’ homes and feed them, nourish them, and cause them to grow that they will be built up and established. We should always have two or three newly baptized ones under our care year-round. Third, we need to bring the new believers under our care to the group meetings where they will spontaneously participate in the fellowship, interceding, and mutual care with the saints. We have to perfect the saints that they may do the work of the ministry to build up the Body of Christ. Fourth, all of us need to prophesy for the building up of the church as the organic Body of Christ. This requires the growth in life and in truth through some particular training.
