A Share of the Allotted Portion

I was born and raised in Hong Kong in a traditional Chinese family. I did not know much about God, but I was always acutely aware a of void deep within my being. Material wealth and entertainment would only temporarily fill the emptiness, but never for long. Sometimes at night when all was still, the flood of emptiness would overwhelm me.

This all changed when one day I heard the gospel. The librarian in my school shared with me that I was a vessel made to contain God and that the Lord Jesus came to meet my every need and be my satisfaction. Whoever drank from this living fountain would never thirst again. Upon hearing the good news, I gladly received the Lord Jesus into my spirit by calling on His name. Immediately I was set free from vanity.

I began to meet with the church in Hong Kong. Gradually I was introduced to the books written by Watchman Nee. I particularly enjoyed one of his books called The Three Testimonies. Brother Nee testified how the Lord had called him out of all the divisions in Christianity to meet on the ground of oneness. His testimony really helped me to see why the church in Hong Kong bore no denominational name. A year later I went to study abroad in Vancouver, Canada. Upon my first meeting with the church in Vancouver, I was overcome by the feeling of being at home. I did not know a single person in that congregation, but I felt I was home. How wonderful it is to be a member of the household of God (Ephesians. 2:19).

Being in Vancouver brought me closer to the ministry of Witness Lee. I enjoyed very much The Stream Magazine published by the Living Stream Ministry in Anaheim, California. Witness Lee’s teaching is full of life and light. His ministry always ministers Christ to people. When Brother Witness Lee was alive, he really let God’s divine attributes be expressed through his human virtues. He was an example of how a man of God should live. It is such a privilege and mercy from God to be under this ministry. Praise the Lord!
